How to Choose the Right Gate Size:
Step 1: Decide How You Want to Hang the Gate
Between Existing Structures (Wall-to-Wall): Fit the gate directly between two existing walls or sturdy pillars.
Wall and New Aluminium Post (25mm, 50mm, or 75mm): Attach a new post to a wall, and hang the gate between the wall and this post.
Between Two New Posts: Install two new aluminium posts, and hang the gate between them.
Step 2: Measure the Opening Width & Height
Measure the Narrowest Point: Always measure your physical opening width and height in millimetres at the absolute narrowest point of the brickwork or gap.
Height Clearance: Ensure your total physical opening height is at least 100mm taller than the gate height you select to allow for proper ground clearance.
Step 3: Account for Hinges and Posts
Standard Width Clearance: Allow an extra 30mm total width for standard hinge clearance.
If using posts, deduct the specific width of your chosen posts (e.g., 25mm, 50mm, or 75mm) from the overall gap.
If not using posts, no deduction is needed aside from the 30mm hinge allowance.
Step 4: Check Standard Gate Sizes
Check the dropdown menu to see if a standard size fits your opening exactly. If it does, no custom reduction is required.
Step 5: Calculate Custom Gate Size (If Needed)
If none of the standard sizes fit perfectly, calculate a custom size by taking your measured opening width, allowing 30mm for the hinges, deducting any post widths, and rounding your final calculated width up to the next available standard gate size.
Step 6: Select Gate Size, Customise & Final Checks
If a standard size fits, simply select 'Standard Size' from the options.

Standard Sizes (Driveway & Garden Gates): 3 to 4 weeks (15–20 working days).
Custom Width Fabrication & Colours: 5 to 6 weeks to allow for factory workshop adjustments.
Fitted Accessories & Keyed-Alike Services: Please allow an additional 3 to 5 working days.

I have an old fitting that needs removing before the new one can be installed. Can you uninstall it, and will you take it away?
Yes, our installation team can uninstall redundant fittings and in some instances decommission electrical equipment too. Dependent on the job we may also be able to dispose of old fittings on your behalf. Additional fees may apply for this service, please discuss with us at the time of ordering, as this cannot be arranged on the day. Our installers will also bring with them any tools or equipment required to carry out the installation and dispose of any waste material created as a result of their work, and will assist with the reinstatement of surfaces after removal and installation. Can the installer bring the products with them on the day of installation, rather than having them delivered separately?
In some situations it’s easier for installers to bring your products with them on the day. Depending on the product, it is sometimes possible for the installer to bring the item(s) with them on the day of installation rather than arranging a separate delivery. If this is essential, for instance if no one is available onsite to sign for deliveries or if you have nowhere safe to store items, please discuss your needs with us at time of booking. How long does delivery take?
We offer a standard delivery service free of charge within Great Britain on most of our products. We aim to get most items to you between 3 and 5 working days, unless otherwise stipulated. Please note, all delivery dates are estimated; we strongly recommend that you do not book tradesmen or projects in until goods have been received on site and checked.
Delivery usually takes place any time between 09:00 and 17:00 on the date of delivery - please ensure someone is in to take safe receipt of your order.
