Please review our "How to Choose the Right Gate Size" guide below to ensure you select the correct fixed dimensions for your opening.
How to Choose the Right Gate Size:
Step 1: Decide How You Want to Hang the Gates
- Between Existing Structures (Wall-to-Wall): Fit the gates directly between two existing walls or sturdy pillars.
- Wall and New Aluminium Post (150mm): Attach a new post to a wall, and hang the gates between the wall and this post.
- Between Two New Posts: Install two new aluminium posts, and hang the gates between them.
Step 2: Measure the Opening Width & Height
- Measure the Narrowest Point: Always measure your physical opening width and height in millimetres at the absolute narrowest point of the brickwork or gap.
- Height Clearance: Ensure your total physical opening height is at least 50mm to 100mm taller than the gate height you select to allow for proper ground clearance and floor-mounted hinge operation.
Step 3: Account for Hinges, Centre Gap and Posts
- Standard Width Clearance: Allow an extra 50mm total width to accommodate the wall hinges and the necessary gap in the centre where the two gates meet.
- If using posts, deduct the specific width of your chosen posts (e.g., 150mm) from the overall gap.
- If not using posts, no deduction is needed aside from the 50mm hinge and centre clearance.
Step 4: Check Standard Gate Sizes & Select
Check the dropdown menu to see which of our fixed standard sizes fits your calculated opening exactly. Please note: This executive gate model is only available in the listed standard sizes; we do not offer a custom width reduction service for this specific range. Once identified, simply select your required size from the options.
Installation Overview
Important Notification on Delivery & Sizing:
Please double-check your measurements carefully against the available dimension guides before completing your order. Because this is a fixed-size gate range, we cannot offer bespoke width reductions. Ensuring accurate opening measurements is crucial for a successful installation.
Estimated Lead Times & Delivery Process:
Please note: To keep delivery free across the UK mainland, all gate deliveries are scheduled in line with regional route planning and logistics. Because of this, any delivery date generated by the calendar at checkout is strictly an estimate. Due to current peak season demand, this initial timeframe is subject to change.
How your delivery is scheduled:
- Delivery Confirmation: As your estimated lead time approaches, the delivery team will contact you by email with your confirmed delivery date.
- Unexpected Delays: If there are any unexpected delays, the delivery team will keep you updated as soon as possible.
- The Day Before: On the afternoon or evening before delivery, the driver will text the mobile number provided at checkout with an estimated time of arrival.
Current Estimated Lead Times:
- Standard Gate Orders: 2 to 3 weeks. (Please note: Garden side gates are supplied complete with a standard lock, lock keep, and handles).
- Custom Upgrades & Accessories: If ordering multiple gates and requesting a 'Keyed Alike' matching lock service, or adding other fitted accessories, please allow an additional 3 to 5 working days on top of the standard lead time to accommodate this workshop request. Please note: During the garden summer peak season, this timeframe can be slightly longer.
- Custom Fabrication (4 to 5 weeks): Bespoke width reductions require structural modifications at the factory. Selecting this custom sizing option results in a total estimated lead time of 4 to 5 weeks.
Please note that deliveries to Scotland may take longer.
