Guardrail for Pedestrian Safety

For areas where there is heavy foot and vehicle traffic, a pedestrian guard rail can be a big help in ensuring safety. This product provides a clear demarcation between the different traffics and easy visibility both ways thanks to the space between the vertical bars and at the top of the rail. This larger visibility gap at the top of the rail ensures there is no confusion as to the presence of pedestrians. The staggered infill design for the vertical bars also helps ensure clarity. 

The lengths of the panels can be customised on request, meaning that this pedestrian guardrail can be easily installed even on curved sections of the road. Where this customisation is not required, the standard sizing of the panels is two metres. Gates can also be provided to ensure strict access points onto the road for better safety. 

Made of mild steel, this barrier makes for an attractive installation. The standard galvanised finish helps to prevent rusting and corrosion, which is a common problem when being used in outdoor settings. It can, however, also be colour-coated in moss green or jet black to better suit the surroundings. Note that colour-coating requires extra lead-time and leads to additional cost. 

The pedestrian guardrail legs need to be installed in a concrete foundation to comply with British Standards.  Besides separating pedestrian and vehicular traffic, these guardrails can also be used to fence off other areas including car parks, playing fields, and trolley parks. They are also ideal for areas where children pass, as they remain visible to motorists while still prevented from getting on to the road. This is why you may see them popularly used around school areas. We also recommend them for use in guiding pedestrian traffic at large venues like stadiums.
